Cyber Crime

Rapid advances in technology have made transition from physical world to digital one, which increases the chances of women and children to fall prey to cyber crime.

With the purpose of registration, investigation and prosecution of offences related to cyber crime against women and children, the State Govt has established Cyber Crime Police Stations in 14 districts along with one cyber police station at CID-CB, which can be approached to report a cyber crime. The State also has in place helpline numbers for the women and children.

Tips to Stay Safe From Cyber Crime

  • – Keep your software and operating system updated.
  • – Keep changing passwords often.
  • – Do not connect to public wifi.
  • – In case of missing/ loss of mobile phone block your sim card.
  • – Never share bank account details, registered phone number, one-time password (OTP),           Aadhaar card and other details with any one.
  • – Do not click on any suspicious/ mail ware links.
  • – Use the privacy settings in all your online accounts/ social media accounts.
  • – Transaction of money should be done done through authorized sites.
  • – Do not share KYC details over phone or email.
