On the occasion of Durga Puja and International Daughters Day, Sundargarh Police launched Project “DURGA:- Sashakt Sundargarh Surakshit Sundargarh”. This project was aimed at capacity and confidence building of the young girls of Sundargarh to make them ready to face the challenges in the world of tomorrow.  About 300 students from class 8-10 participated in the program. A dedicated 24X7 district helpline number -9438915854 as “NAARI HELPLINE”was launched for public for reporting incidents of harassment and eve-teasing, especially inside and near schools and colleges. This dedicated number will be handled by a female staff to enable free communication. Any incident of sexual harassment, abuse, leaking of indecent photos/videos etc. may be directly reported to the police via this helpline for swift and prompt action.
