CAW&CW is the nodal agency to develop different strategies to combat human trafficking cases related to women and children. 37 Integrated Anti Human Trafficking Units (IAHTU) have been formed in various districts to specially deal with this heinous crime. The main objective of these units is to collect actionable information timely, conduct rescue operations, and attend to post-rescue care and rehabilitation of victims with the assistance of government agencies and NGOs. These units take over the investigation of kidnapping cases where the victim remains untraced even after 4 months to have a targeted approach for investigation.
Composition: Each IAHTU is manned by one Dy. SP, Inspector, two Sub-inspectors, two Constables. The IAHTUs are provided with necessary logistics and infrastructural support.
Key Statistics: Since functioning of IAHTUs in 2013, 784 cases have been taken up for investigation by the units till 2021 and 4,370 persons have been rescued.
Partners of IAHTU: IAHTUs work closely with various departments, agencies and bodies both government and non-government, for prevention and response to human trafficking, especially women and children. Some of our partners include Women and Child Development Department, Labour Department, Odisha State Commission for Women, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, School and Mass Education Department and various NGOs including Child Line.

State Monitoring Unit: The CAW&CW monitors the functioning of IAHTUs set up at district level regularly. The CAW&CW also conducts workshops, seminars, orientation training and capacity building programmes for the officers of IAHTUs regularly for their knowledge up-gradation and skill development.
