ln 2014, this Institute has been recognized as a National Center for Excellence (NRC) by MoTA,  Gol  for matters relating to implementation of FRA.  lt has started functioning under the aegis of MoTA with support under MoTA-UNDP Project "Strengthening National Capacities in Tribal Areas" The key objective of the NRC is to function as the “National Knowledge Hub and Technical Arm of MoTA" to address the capacity and knowledge gap in tribal development especially, in the domain of FRA.
